Program Description
The Marketing program provides students with a solid foundation in marketing theory, marketing communication, consumer behavior, marketing research, and marketing strategy. In addition, the program offers specialized elective courses in topics such as internet marketing, entrepreneurship, international marketing, new product development, and more. Hands-on learning experiences throughout the curriculum allow students to develop and apply creative skills and analytical thinking, with an emphasis on social responsibility and ethical decision-making.
The program prepares students to enter a variety of marketing-related careers, such as digital marketing, social media marketing, sales, advertising, media planning, brand management, and market research, and graduate school.
A program is also offered.
Learning Goals and Outcomes
Goal 1: Effective Communication: Students will demonstrate the ability to create and deliver effective communication that influences a target audience in business settings.
Outcome 1: Our students will create and deliver clear, logically organized messages with defined purposes, credible evidence, tailored to their audience, and communicated using engaging delivery techniques.
Goal 2: Ethics: Our students will consider the moral implications of business actions and processes, and propose ethically sound solutions.
Outcome 1: Students will detect ethical dilemmas and offer potential alternatives and solutions.
Goal 3: Foundation: Our students will have a broad-based knowledge in the functional areas of business.
Outcome 1: Students will comprehend principles and practices in key business disciplines.
Goal 4: Perspectives: Our students will consider diverse points of view and apply them towards issue resolution.
Outcome 1: Students will be able to identify and analyze different points of view when seeking to resolve business-related issues.
Goal 5: Reasoning: Our students will be critical thinkers and decision makers able to use qualitative and quantitative methods.
Outcome 1: Students will be able to identify and analyze problems and opportunities, generate alternatives, and recognize appropriate solutions.
Goal 6: Comprehensive Knowledge in the Discipline: Integration - Integrative application of fundamental concepts of consumer behavior, marketing research, and marketing management strategy as components of the marketing plan development process.
Outcome 1: Marketing students will be able to integratively apply consumer behavior, marketing communication, and market research concepts in developing a marketing plan. They should be able to identify and analyze problems and opportunities and to evaluate alternatives, from a marketing perspective.
Goal 7: Specialized Knowledge in the Discipline
Outcome 1: Students will apply the specific knowledge gained in marketing elective coursework in the development of a marketing plan.
