Nursing MSN

Ramapo College of New Jersey offers courses leading to a Master of Science in Nursing. There are four tracks:

• Adult/Gerontology

• Family Nurse Practitioner

• Nursing Administration

• Nursing Education

ln addition, a post-Master’s program is offered, designed for those nurses holding a Master’s degree in nursing who are interested in pursuing nursing education.

The Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3390 Peachtree Rd NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA, 30326.

Criteria for admission to the degree program include graduation from an approved nursing Bachelor’s degree program or completion of the Transition Program for applicants with non-nursing baccalaureate degrees, an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale) for all nursing courses and full-time experience as a practicing registered professional nurse.

Outcome 1: Knowledge – Utilize interprofessional collaboration to integrate advanced nursing science and specialty knowledge to develop, implement and evaluate person-centered systems of care at multiple levels.

Outcome 2: Evidence Based Research and Practice – Practice – Apply principles of evidence-based practice in the appraisal and advancement of equitable and inclusive care to diverse populations.

Outcome 3: Information Management – Manage and evaluate data appropriate for the delivery and evaluation of person-centered to diverse populations through the advocacy of current and emerging technologies.

Outcome 4: Professionalism –

• Implement effective strategies to uphold ethical values in healthcare settings, using the principles of justice, autonomy, human rights, integrity and civility.

• Promote interprofessional collaboration to create impactful action and change
  throughout the healthcare continuum.

Outcome 5: Social Advocacy – Advocate for and lead stakeholders integrating social
determinants of health to provide equitable, inclusive, and fair treatment of all populations.

Outcome 6: Leadership – Apply innovative leadership theories to create change across all
aspects of healthcare on a local, national, and global level.

Outcome 7: Role Function – Integrate advanced nursing competencies and promote persona well being to assess, evaluate and continually improve practice across health care settings.
