Program Description

Ramapo College of New Jersey offers an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) for prospective students who hold a non-Nursing Bachelor’s degree or have a minimum of 60 credits from a regionally-accredited institution.

The accelerated degree is a program for qualified students who wish to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The program is a full-time, daytime, in-person intensive experience that prepares students to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX) and launch their careers soon after completion.

The accelerated Nursing program also provides a strong foundation for graduate study at the Master’s and Doctoral levels, of which programs are offered at Ramapo College (program and program). Clinical experiences for the pre-licensure programs are held at local magnet hospitals. These hospitals, such as The Valley Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health, Holy Name, and Morristown Medical Center, are recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as Centers of Excellence in nursing. Students are expected to supply their own transportation to and from the clinical sites. Transfer and second-degree students are admitted to the major upon completion of the prerequisite courses and 64 college credits.
