Program Description
The program (MASE) 4+1 requirements consist of both coursework, distinct course-aligned clinical experiences, and a full-year clinical practice internship in a variety of both inclusive and special education school settings. Required courses and clinical internships may be taken during the traditional Fall and Spring semesters, Summer sessions I and II, the Winter session, and online. See the Academic Calendar for dates.
Students who enroll in the Special Education 4+1 complete all of the required undergraduate and graduate coursework and clinical internship in just five years. This can occur because students are able to complete three (3) graduate-level courses during years three and four of their undergraduate (program or Subject Area Major) experience, which means 12 credits are double-counted toward both degrees.
