Course Description
Econometrics and Analytics is a required course in the program intended to proffer both theory and practical skills in analyzing qualitative and quantitative data in the broad area of public policy research. Topics include epistemological debates between qualitative and quantitative researchers and qualitative research methods and skills. Additionally, the second half of the course explores critical quantitative research methods and skills, including bivariate analysis, OLS, maximum likelihood, multilevel models, and spatial analysis. Lastly, the course also includes human subjects research dilemmas and advice as well as a quantitative replication project.
