Our contemporary culture faces increasing distrust in scientific principles. Only citizens with basic scientific sensibility can grapple with the complexity, diversity, and change they will face. This calculus based course fulfills the General Education category Scientific Reasoning. The fundamental principles and analytical methods of physics are studied. Areas covered include Newtonian mechanics relativity and waves. This is the first semester of a two-semester sequence with laboratory.
