INTERMEDIATE CHORAL ENSEMBLE
Course Description
Intermediate Choral Ensemble is designed for experienced and committed singers interested in performing challenging repertoire in a wide range of styles, including a cappella, with an emphasis on contemporary and
international repertoire. Ensembles included in the course include mixed, women's, and men's groups. Singers from diverse music backgrounds, both music majors and non~majors, are welcome. The course requires the genuine desire to sing high quality music, perform regularly, and work with the director and fellow singers to achieve musical goals. The course provides each student with opportunities to enhance and demonstrate his or her individual abilities, as
well as, develop music reading, aural skills, stylistic understanding, and overall musicianship. Intermediate choral ensembles are comprised of committed singers from many academic programs and interests - all are valued. The essential requirements for the Intermediate Choral Ensemble are accessible to all singers: Consistently attend rehearsals (during class time and as scheduled in advance), engage fully, learn repertoire as assigned, and participate in all scheduled performances.
