MANAGEMENT PRACTICUM

Course Description

This course is designed to help students “test-drive” and hone the skills they’ve learned in the management
curriculum in service to their larger career development and goals. Students will be challenged to work on
real world projects sponsored by employers. Co-op or internship is required while enrolled in this course. The
instructor will provide online infrastructure for the course, including provision and support for guided peer-
to-peer discussion on a weekly basis. Topics covered in this class include: Hands-on problem solving, Self-
management and career planning, strategies for navigating the workplace, professionalism, continual
learning, career success, intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship challenges. The class will participate in a
weekly panel discussion with guest speakers, professionals from different industry, entrepreneurs, and other
specialists. Students will be supported in developing strategies to overcome the challenges, access the
opportunities, and exploring answers to questions that are arising in the workplace.
