INTERMEDIATE I - ITALIAN
Course Description
This course integrates communicative aspects in all four skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. In addition, the basic tenants of standards for world language learning (communication, cultures, connections and viewpoints, cultural and linguistic expressions) are embedded in activities and readings done in class. The course is designed to gain fluency through various conversational topics and short compositions. Our goal will be to establish effective communication and reinforce grammatical skills. Discussions on a variety of cultural topics will
improve students’ ability to communicate effectively in various situations created in the classroom. The aim is to reach an Intermediate low/mid-level acquisition (ACTFL scale). The class will combine interactive methodologies and technological advances to create an exciting setting that supports a more realistic and functional approach to the Italian language studies.
