Course Description

The course is designed to provide participants the important opportunity to individually and collectively examine questions, issues, and challenges associated with classroom instruction; the current realities of the US public education system; and research-based best pedagogical practices. As such, candidates will participate in authentic, practical learning activities, interactive discussions and related experiences that are specifically intended to advance their understanding and competencies across essential areas, including:
-dispositional and professional development;
-communication and interpersonal competencies;
-instructional design and implementation;
-diagnostic, prescriptive and differentiated assessment and instructional practices;
-Federal and State mandates - i.e., edTPA preparation, NJPTS, etc.; and
-IEPs/504s and related regulations to special needs learners.
