Course Description

The descriptions and topics of this course change from semester-to-semester, as well as from instructor-to-instructor. Prerequisite: varies with the topic offered. The contemporary topic is "AIDS: Biological, Medical and Social Perspectives." Others will include "Science and the Law" and other interdisciplinary topics.

SCIN 390 AIDS: BIOLOGICAL, MEDICAL AND SOCIAL PERSPECTIVES. A primary goal of this course is to provide an understanding of the biological and clinical aspects of AIDS, its origins, treatment and disease progression. We will also explore the social, legal, psychological, and ethical issues as they relate to patients, their families, caregivers and health care providers.
