NEW JERSEY POLICY ISSUES
Course Description
New Jersey faces several public policy challenges as it has in the past. This course
surveys an array of these issues, both contemporary and historical. By examining the opportunities,
funding challenges, political constraints, and historical legacies of past policy debates, students will learn
about how state and local governmental decisions (and lack of action) affect all of us. Issues could include
health care, public education, transportation, zoning, and others but there will also be emphasis on policy
debates that are happening now.
