Course Description
This course will critically review the rich metaphysical and epistemic psychological roots of classical Indian yoga. These theories and practices will be discussed in relation to traditional South Asian cultural context of Hindu and Buddhist thought, and various schools of Indian, philosophy, and traditional medicine. Our class will have a dual approach: investigating the philosophical arguments of these ancient and contemporary texts as well as integrating these texts with contemporary clinical theory and practice in psychology. This course is cross-listed with PHIL 307.
