Course Description
In this class all students in the MFA in Creative Music Technology program will meet for in-depth discussions of critical issues in the field of creative music technology and practical studio sessions. Each week will include presentations by guest musicians, multimedia artists, technicians, and producers whose work demonstrates innovation. Working in the Les Paul Studio and the Electronic Music Lab, students will investigate practices introduced in the presentations and apply them to the development of their Thesis project. The role of improvisation in technological based creativity will also be explored through a series of individual and group activities. These interactions will provide the foundation for the Electronic and Computer Music concert in the second Summer Session.
