This course provides a foundational introduction to music composition and production for film and video. Students will learn technical skills, historical and theoretical context, musical examples and techniques through a combination of readings, listening, screenings, and musical analysis. Creative exercises and original soundtrack composition will prepare students to successfully develop original content using orchestral sample libraries, sound effects and notated scoring techniques.
