Course Description

Employing 1 in 10 workers globally, the travel and tourism industry remains an exciting, varied, and transformational field for innovative and sustainable management. This course provides an examination of the hospitality management industry, giving students exposure to the traditional
functions of management such as leadership, decision making, sustainable operations, and organizational ethics within the fields of hospitality, travel, and tourism management. Two weeks of online learning, interspersed with course meetings and lectures, will be followed by a one-week immersive, experiential study abroad trip and followed up by two more weeks of online learning. A pre-departure on—site class meeting is also required.
