INTRODUCTION TO EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN

Mathematics (MATH) Graduate Science

Course Description

This course will cover the principles of experimental design and the collection, analysis and interpretation of data. Topics will include the experimental protocols for completely randomized, randomized complete block, latin square, two-stage nested, split-plot, split-block, strip block and repeated measures design structures, along with the appropriate statistical model and analysis for each of these designs. Analysis using linear regression models will also be covered. Assessing the appropriateness of model assumptions will be emphasized, along with how to correctly present the results of the analysis of data from a designed experiment.
