Humanities and Global Studies

Course Description

This course will explore the question: In what ways does healing happen? Specifically, it will focus on how humanities and art can play a role in that healing. To this end, the course will explore literary texts, particularly memoirs, in which authors use their narratives as a coping mechanism for their suffering. The course will also examine the role of doctors and therapists’ interaction with patients in the healing process.
