Course Description

(Formerly LITR 213) An in-depth study of the 100 year period from 1660-1760, often called the Resoration and Age of Reason. It was a time of enormous growth and change in England, reflected in a shifting of the balance of power and wealth and a dramatic increase in literacy. Authors will include Pepys, Bunyan, Dryden, Pope, Defoe, Addison and Steele, Swift and others.
