Course Description

After World War II ended in 1945, the United States entered a period of extraordinary transformation. This course explores social, political, economic and cultural developments what occurred in America since 1945, paying special attention to the relationship between major historical processes and the lives and experiences of ordinary people and political activists. Throughout the course, race, class, gender and sexuality will remain critical analytical touchstones as we explore major postwar developments.
