Course Description
The descriptions and topics of this course change from semester-to-semester, as well as from instructor-to-instructor. Prerequisites: varies with the topic offered.
ARTS 490 COLLAGE AND ASSEMBLAGE. This is a class in collage, assemblage, and appropriation. There will be weekly projects due in these areas. Approximately two-thirds of the projects will be in collage and a little less than one-third will be in assemblage. Appropriation will be worked into both of these areas with one project specifically devoted to it. All projects in all areas will involve explorations in a variety of mediums even though the projects in collage will be dominated by paper. There will be weekly critiques of your projects. It is expected that all the students in the class have had at least one upper level class in their concentrations.
ARTS 490: ADVANCED ANIMATION
Students will apply knowledge and skills gained in previous courses to produce a high quality short animation in this studio class. All genres and styles are within the scope of this class. Whether your preference is 2D Hand Drawn, Digital 2D, CG, Stop Motion or AR/VR, you will execute your production from storyboard to film-festival application including advanced lessons in motion and timing, compositing, character motion, abstract morphs, as well as audio and video editing.
